Construction notes — how the light stays on the spine
  1. LED channel: stitch both blue lines into a sleeve down the spine centreline; leave the neck end open so the strip slides in (and out, to wash/charge). The strip is captured, not floating in a pocket — that's what keeps it on the spine.
  2. Inner contact layer: mount the strip on the skin-side layer with thin foam or 3D-spacer mesh behind it so it presses through the fur. Position without contact pressure is wasted dose.
  3. Strap tabs: attach the chest and lumbar straps at the brown marks. Cinched evenly, the symmetric panel self-centres on the topline ridge and the straps stop fore-aft slip and rotation.
  4. Flexible strip, not a rigid pad: the channel follows the spine's curve — use a bendable strip so it conforms along the whole back instead of tenting over the arch.
